Cowboys Throwing It Back

As many other NFL teams have revealed their throwback or alternative helmets, Dallas Cowboy fans have wondered if the Cowboys would do the same.

Today, the Dallas Cowboys announced they will wear their throwback white helmets with a single Navy blue star when they play the New York Giants on Thanksgiving day.

The white helmet has a grey facemask and two blue stripes down the middle…it’s a great throwback – a clean looking helmet and will be worn with their Thanksgiving throwbacks that have the blue jersey with whitle sleeves and shoulders and white numbers.

The Cowboys wore white helmets with a blue start from their first season in 1960 until 1964 before the switch to the silver helmets. From 2004 until 2012, the Cowboys honored the original uniform each Thanksgiving Game by wearing the white helmet.

The NFL announced that teams could use a second helmet this season so it’s no surprise that the Cowboys would do this again…can’t believe it’s been 10 years since we have seen the white helmet and it’s no surprise Jerry will have them on sale in Cowboys Pro Shops beginning July 25.
