Hendon Hooker is the Future for the Cowboys

Since the Cowboys lost in the Divisional; round to the San Francisco 49ers, we have been dissecting what went wrong. Dak Prescott has taken most of the arrows, but for now the Cowboys are stuck with number 4 because of his massive contract. Several position coaches have lost their jobs along with Kellen Moore who apparently did not see eye to eye with head coach Mike McCarthy. The Cowboys have plenty of work to do this off-season but it needs to start with the future of the quarterback position. Whether you are a Dak fan or not, he has not been able to get the job done when it counts, the post season.
So while the Cowboys have some time, bring in the future and for me that future is Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker. I know he is coming off an ACL injury and that will be a concern, but because of that, Hooker will drop in the draft allowing the Cowboys to get what would have been a top 10 pick in the later rounds. Before his injury, Hooker was a legit Heisman candidate, the Vols signal caller posted over 3100 yards passing, with 27 touchdowns and only 2 picks. He also rushed for 430 yards and five scores. Not to mention the fact he is already 25 years old, which to me is a plus.
Hooker will be sought after, teams know his talent and the Cowboys may have to roll the dice and move up to select him. Dak Prescott may come back and have a super bowl year, who knows, but that will only benefit Hooker as he transitions into an NFL player. The time has come for Cowboys fans, the future at quarterback is now and Hendon Hooker is that future!
