Is Father Time Catching up With Brady, Rodgers and Lebron?

We have all heard the old saying, “Father Time is Undefeated.” It is a saying that most of us can agree with but it is particularly true in the world of professional sports. It’s hard to watch our favorite players look like mere mortals but it appears that may be the case with three of the best to ever play the game. Let’s start with Lebron James, his Lakers are 0-4 to start the season and he does not look like the superstar we are used to seeing. His stats are still star-like, averaging 25 points per game, but Wednesday night in a loss to Denver, he was sloppy, turning the ball over 8 times.
It’s early in the season so maybe this is premature, but certainly worth watching. Then there is Green Bay Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Pack are 3-4 and look worse than that quite frankly. Rodgers, to his defense, is short on wide receivers, but you would think a four time MVP could make a difference. Again, it is still early but looking at his stats he is way off his season last year when he threw for over 4 thousand yards and 37 touchdowns.
And then we come to the G.O.A.T. Tom Brady. What a roller coaster ride this guy is on, coming out of retirement, going through marital problems and seeing his Tampa Bay Buccaneers struggle out of the gate at 3-4. Brady, like Rodgers, is way off his stats from last year, 5300 yards and 43 touchdowns. Plenty of excuses for all three of these Hall of Famers but it bears watching. Another old saying comes to mind, “never stay too long at the party.” I wish all of these players would play forever, I love watching the greatness they display, but unfortunately there is always an end. I hope I can look back at this article months from now and see that I was way premature, but for now it appears the end could be closer than we think.
