Rangers lose game, series, road trip following 10-6 loss to Cleveland
The Texas Rangers scored a respectable six runs but the Clevelands scored ten of them.
The sequencing of this game was really strange as the Rangers trailed 4-0 after a first inning where it looked like Texas would have to rescue starter Jordan Lyles from himself. Instead, after three innings, the game was tied four runs apiece and Lyles looked like he was settling in just as the bats were ready to take off.
Of course, that definitely wasn’t true as the very next inning Lyles allowed another four runs to swiftly end his worst outing of the season after 3 2⁄3 innings pitched.
After Cleveland added a run in the fourth to make it 9-4, the Rangers scored a couple of runs to threaten a conjuring of the peckaway theory before they were shut down with a final run from the future Guardians.
