Source: Texas interviews former UT player Royal Ivey for basketball head coaching job

Royal Ivey, a member of Texas’ 2003 Final Four team and currently an assistant coach with the Brooklyn Nets, has been interviewed to replace Shaka Smart as Texas’ head basketball coach, a source close to the situation told Horns247 Sunday.
“Royal did have an introduction interview with Texas,” the source told Horns247.
ESPN was the first to report Ivey interviewing with Texas.
