Spurs lose in OT last night and that game had everything for those on Team Tank.

While it might make Joe Reinagel’s head explode, last night’s Spurs game was perfect for those on Team Tank.
In losing in overtime 124-122 to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Spurs showed a lot in the game. They competed. The hustle was there. All five starters were in double figures. The Spurs did everything right but win the game, and some believe the L is the right thing for this season.
We had potential game winning shots missed by both Keldon Johnson at the end of regulation and Devin Vassell at the end of overtime. What I liked, neither hesitated. They showed they were willing to take those clutch shots.
These young Spurs also showed the mistakes that they have to fix, like free throw shooting. They were 16 of 23 from the line on a night where they took care of the basketball. They have struggled with turnovers but last night against the Grizzlies, they only had 12. Putting it all together is part of the process.
The Spurs are fun to watch and they show signs that this core can be good but for this year, the fifth straight loss is a good thing.
