The Cowboys cross the off-season finish line

The Dallas Cowboys have officially ended their offseason.
Next up, training camp in Oxnard on July 25th.
And some, namely Joe Reinagel, seem upset that they took a field trip yesterday and cancelled their final official practice of minicamp so they could start vacation early. They only had one real practice during this minicamp.
I get where you are coming from. They have not won a Super Bowl in almost three decades but I have no problem with the coaching staff throwing the team a bone.
Mike McCarthy knows the pressure he is under to win. He also said this is the best he has felt about his Cowboys team in the preparation phase of the offseason. It is also the first full offseason he has had as the Cowboys Head Coach and in his words; they accomplished what they wanted to accomplish to this point.
“I think the biggest thing is you have a starting line and finish line and I just felt like we crossed the finish line, particularly with the veterans and really today’s focus was just really spending a final time with the rookies,” McCarthy told reporters before he started his vacation.
With what McCarthy called an 8-step install complete, the team went to Top Golf on Wednesday for a team bonding experience. I love the idea of the team-bonding event at Top Golf.
If you have ever been to a team-bonding event with your company, and many teams at all levels do these, they are fun and if done right, well orchestrated and with a purpose. McCarthy said it was one of the better ones he has been a part of as an NFL coach.
With the offseason complete, McCarthy said “We will be better. That needs to be the headline: We will be better & that’s our focus.”
Only time will tell.
