The Ups and Downs of Being a Cowboys Fan

I’m not sure how it is in other parts of the country, but here, Cowboys fans live and die with each game. When the Cowboys blew a 14 point lead to the Green Bay Packers, the sky was falling, the Cowboys were exposed and are not going anywhere this season. But a week later, it’s the Super Bowl for the Cowboys for sure. Hard to argue with fans after this one, the Cowboys went into Minnesota and simply destroyed the then 8-1 Vikings.
The Cowboys told us all week that they were upset with the Packers loss and we would see a different team this week. Judging from the outcome, I will never doubt a word they say again. The offense was pretty close to flawless and the defense held the Vikings to just three points. With the win, the Cowboys moved into second place in the NFC East, still two games behind the Philadelphia Eagles. It is a short week for Dallas, the Cowboys play this Thursday against the Giants, a team that looked really bad on Sunday losing to the Detroit Lions at home. Get ready, this week we will hear how the Cowboys are the best team in the NFC, how they will ride Sunday’s win to a dominant end of the regular season and eventually a championship. To all of that, I say, let Cowboys fans have their fun because the narrative just might change in a few short days, because after all, that is the Cowboy way.
