With The Best Stanley Cup Matchup In Decades, Will You Watch?

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals is tonight!
Watch hockey.
I could end this post here since we get graded on these and I am sure this one will not get clicks but what the hell…
In a low performing post on May 5th as the NHL Playoffs were getting underway I wrote (and you can check) “If you want to bandwagon a team that has a chance to win it all…Colorado Avalanche, Calgary Flames or the Florida Panthers. Tampa Bay has won the last two Cups, but I don’t think they have a three-peat in them.”
Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals is tonight between the Colorado Avalanche and Tampa Bay Lightning.
I am surprised Tampa Bay has made it back and they battled to get here, down 0-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Rangers.
The Colorado Avalanche remind me of the Houston Astros World Series team. They have been building the right way for years. The Avs were the worst team in the NHL in 2016 They have been built the right way. After trusting the process, they are four wins away from hoisting the cup.
This is a series between two of the best teams all season. I don’t think ESPN is over hyping this matchup as one of the best in the last 20 years.
No surprise that when you look for predictions, it is fairly evenly split with a slight edge to Tampa Bay. Most of the experts have this going 6 or 7. I don’t think I have seen anyone predict a sweep or even a five game series.
As for me, I am going Colorado in 7. They have home ice and it will come into play.
Tell me your prediction on Twitter @JasonMinnix and tune into The Blitz from 4-7p, although we probably won’t talk a lot of hockey!
