As The Sports Star Crew Heads To California For Cowboys Camp, Jason Minnix Says The Dallas Defense Should Be Getting More Headlines Than Dak

The San Antonio Sports Star crew takes off to Oxnard this week for a full week of Dallas
Cowboys Training Camp coverage.

It will be my 18th camp and while the joke is Super Bowl every year, this is probably the 4 th time
we start camp coverage with the Cowboys as legit Super Bowl contenders.

Vegas says they have the 3 rd best odds to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas.
Of course, Dak and the offense will garner the headlines – and it is on his shoulders – this Dan
Quinn defense will play a major factor.

I said earlier in the week this defense has a chance to be historically good – while I got a laugh
out of Joe Reinagel, it can be that good and that is the goal of the Cowboys best defensive player.

“I think this defense can be up there with the 49ers’ great defense,” Micah Parsons said Friday.
“I think we can be up there with the Ray Lewis’ defense. I think we can be up there with the
Legion of Boom, just with the talent we have and the vet guys mixed with the young guys, the
experience that we all have.”

Parsons is favored to win the Defensive Player of the Year according to BetMGM and while the
individual award is nice, Parsons has not shied away from talking about the Super Bowl.
And if Parsons leads the Cowboys to a Super Bowl, in his words, “I ain’t gotta worry about
nothing the rest of my life.”

We know he will get paid – and while he has two years left on his contract, he is eligible for a
new contract next year and with a Super Bowl, Jerry will have no problem making himself the
highest paid defensive player in history.

Our training camp coverage begins Monday morning from Oxnard with R&R in the Morning
starting at 6 am (4 am in Oxnard)…. and Tune into The Blitz weekdays 2-6 on 94.1 San Antonio
Sports Star.
