Is San Antonio More Of An Astros Town or a Rangers Town?

Simple question – Is San Antonio more of an Astros town or Rangers town?

Historically I think it has been more of an Astros town but has that changed? I saw several social media posts over the weekend from Globe Life where the Rangers were hosting the Astros…

Of my social media friends, it seemed fairly evenly split between Astros and Rangers fans at the games.

Maybe it is because both teams are good this year. The Rangers have a 4 game lead on Houston in the AL West heading into this afternoon’s series finale, a game you can hear on 94.1 San Antonio Sports Star.

It is no surprise with the Rangers being good, you see more fans sporting Texas gear this year – winning helps. We saw a ton of Texas Rangers gear when they went to the World Series in 2010 and 2011 but lately….

As for the Astros, they have been on a hell of a run since 2017 with four trips to the World Series and two titles.

I am mixed on this – I like both and that stems from my childhood. The Astros were my NL team and the Rangers were my AL team. That changed in 2013 when Houston switched to the AL. I still root for both, but when they play, it is the Astros!
